Collection: Military Science Fiction

Military science fiction is a surprisingly big sub genre of science fiction books. When you start trying to think of some, quite a few can come to mind. Dune, for one, is a bit of a classic. Starship Troopers is obviously very silly, but is still a military sci-fi book. In fact there is quite a long and impressive history of using sci-fi to date rise or criticise war. Joe Haldeman, is probably the most famous example of that. Having fought in the Vietnam War, his The Forever War comes from that experience. Not that he is the only ex-military author dabbling in sci-fi. Jack Campbell was in the American Navy, and his Lost Fleet Series is a bit more of a standard ‘’war in space' story. So there is something for everyone.
